Record Fine for Enbridge Spill

The US Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration has recommended a fine of $3.7 million USD against Enbridge Energy, for the spill which occured in July 2010, near Marshall USA

Due to multiple violations of federal pipeline safety regulations and a lack of a safety culture at the company, 20,000 barrels of crude oil was allowed to spill into the environment.
