Our systems are undergoing trials for perimeter monitoring of a UK landfill site. The system is distributed, comprising a total of five instruments mounted along a boundary between the site and neighbouring dwellings. The instruments are optimised to detect methane.

Data from the instruments are combined with meteorological data and these are relayed via GSM communications for processing. The system is able to provide real-time output of prevailing methane crossing the perimeter of the site, enabling site operators to take action to minimise the impact of odours on nearby residents. The system may also assist operators to maintain accurate emission records.
